Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to Year 4! I hope you all had an enjoyable summer and feel rested.
This year PE will be on Thursdays and Fridays. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school on both days and that it is named.
Homework will be given out on a Friday and collected in on the following Wednesday. Homework will rotate between Literacy, Maths and something related to one of the other topics we are learning about. Children should expect to spend 20 to 30 minutes on homework per week, plus time to learn spellings. All homework should be signed or initialled by an adult once completed. Children will be given spellings and times tables to learn with their homework, and will be tested every Thursday.
Your child will receive a school reading book, when you have listened to your child read please sign their reading record book. Children should bring books back once completed, and they will be changed as quickly as possible. Children may also bring in one book at a time from home to read during registration, although we do also have a well-stocked bookcase in the classroom, which children can borrow books from.
