Choir News and Dates
Carols and Mince Pies – Thursday 1st December.
We shall be joining forces with the Choir and Orchestra of Hermitage Primary School to present a Christmas celebration of Carols and Mince Pies, taking place in St Andrew’s Church.
On the day, there will be a rehearsal for all taking part in the concert from 4.00 until 5.30. The choir will rehearse first followed by the orchestra and recorder groups. It is important that everyone is able to attend as it is the only joint rehearsal that we will be having. At the end of the rehearsal, the children will be available for collection from the church.
The concert will be starting at 7.00. Therefore, we need to have them back between 6.40 and 6.50 at the latest. The meeting place will be in the church hall. The concert should last about an hour. Please ensure there is someone to collect them at the end.
All are invited to join us – bring families and friends. There is no charge for admission, but there will be a retiring collection. It would be great to see as many people there as possible! There will be mince pies and refreshments available for all at the end.
We want the children to look as smart as possible, so please can the following be worn:
FULL school uniform-
Boys - WHITE shirt, school tie, grey trousers and black shoes.
Girls – WHITE shirt, school tie, blue trousers or skirt with black / blue tights (NOT socks) and black shoes.
Other Choir events for Christmas:
Pavilions Mall Carol Service – Tuesday 6th December.
As usual, this will take place in the Pavilions Mall Shopping centre in Uxbridge, starting at 6.00 and lasting around an hour – all parents and families welcome to join in. Please could we meet by 5.30 at the centre of the shopping centre – it all takes place by the steps to the car park – the usual place for those who have been before! The children will need picking up at the end, which is why it would be good to see as many parents as possible!! Please ensure that your child has someone to go home with.
Carols at Brunel University – Thursday 8th December.
We have been invited back to sing Carols in the Student restaurant at Brunel for their Christmas lunch. Lunch will be provided for children (and adults), and we will be back at school by 3.30.
Carols at Uxbridge Library – Friday 9th December.
We will be singing in the Library between 10.45 and 12.00 (approx). All welcome.
School Carol Service – Thursday 15th December.
All are invited to our school carol service to be held at St Andrew’s church, starting at 1.45.
Next year's Young Voices concert will be on Wednesday 7th March 2012 at the O2 arena.
